2002 promises to bring several important road projects our way.  These will bring changes to how we get in and out of Lake Vista.  

Swan Lake Dam Project
Sometime in February, repairs at the Swan Lake will begin.  This will close the portion of Graves Mill Road which crosses over the dam.  The estimated time for this closure is 6 to 8 weeks with the time tested condition, "weather permitting."  Most likely, the road will be unavailable until well after the Easter season.

With this popular access to Lake Vista closed, traffic will either use the Lake Vista entrance at Cotton Town Road (see below for upcoming VDOT projects), or the more difficult Gumtree exit to Forest Road (221).  A word to the wise, attempting a left turn to 221 from Gumtree is always a difficult task, and it is IMPOSSIBLE during peak times (7am - 9am and 4pm - 6pm Monday through Friday).  Please consider your neighbors and use Gumtree to Forest Road only for right hand turns.  Thanks.

Changes to Cotton Town Road
